About Us

In 2018 I was looking to try something new and with the popularity of shows like Forged in Fire, I decided I wanted to try blacksmithing. I became a member of the Indiana Blacksmithing Association and started attending on of their monthly satellite group meetings in Washington, IN. It was there that someone took the time to start showing me proper technique and how to use the tools. After a few months I met some blacksmiths closer to Evansville, IN and joined the Southern Indiana Antique Machinery Club and started SIAM Blacksmiths. While working with SIAM I met their resident blacksmith CJ Sauer. CJ was a lifelong blacksmith and walking encyclopedia. Over the next several years I learned with CJ and worked with other blacksmiths like Benton Frisse, Steve Seib, and Floyd Underhill. 

In 2020 while working in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada I was lucky enough to get a spot at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology's Blacksmithing 201 course taught by Shawn Cunningham of Front Step Forge. There I learned how to make my own working tools and many decorative elements. 

Over the next several years as my skill and customers grew I was able to step away from my full time job to pursue blacksmithing as a career in May of 2023. A few months later my wife earned a promotion which required us to put our faith in the Lord and relocate to Magnolia, Texas. It's there that we have found a new community and made our home.
